New Community Website launched for Wollombi in NSW
www.wollombi.nsw.au is the latest CGDN website and boasts an extensive listing of local services and amenities, community issues and events, as well as a federal election run down on the candidates for the Hunter Electorate.
Peter Firminger from the Greater Wollombi Communities Alliance Inc. said "The goals of the website are to increase the use of local businesses and to facilitate better communication between the local community groups and provide a platform for these groups to communicate with their members more securely. We also hope to attract higher levels of permanent residence in Wollombi Valley by families, to increase the economic sustainability within the region and gain important and overdue upgrades to infrastructure (eg. town water, sewerage treatment, roads, mobile telephone coverage, etc.)
Plans are afoot to have local high school students become researchers and editors for various sections of the site and we will work with the High Schools to have this work academically recognised and credited."
