Wendoree Park has launched their community website at www.wendoreepark.nsw.au and has immediately experienced the benefits of making this initiative. This small riverside village on the Hawkesbury just North of Sydney combined the website creation with a fundraising fishing competition for ‘King of the River’. Over $1600 was raised by the event, which would not have been nearly as successful without the aid of the website which was used to thank sponsors, let entrants download entry forms and to keep entrants up to date with rules, tides and check in details. The site has now attracted the attention of advertisers who recognised the value of working with the community, especially for real estate advertising. What a great way to gather funds for community projects.
The Progress Association is delighted with the new site and see it as an excellent way to enhance the lives of the members of their small community and linking them with holiday makers who enjoy the area and its tranquil beauty.
