New Wellstead website promotes community engagement

Community website launched
The Wellstead community website at wellstead.wa.au was set up by the Wellstead Community Resource Centre, which is seeking to improve access to technology for their rural community.
Wellstead is a small community of approximately 300 people, situated on the Great Southern Highway in Western Australia. The picturesque Stirling Ranges forms a backdrop to the rural landscape. The community mainly derives its income from farming, fishing and other agriculture-related industries.
Wellstead and its surrounding communities promote community engagement and the sharing of social lives. The website will encourage this by providing information on youth, community services, events, emergency assistance, sport, employment, tourism and conservation.
There are several active community groups within the Wellstead district, including the Volunteer Bush Fire Brigades, St Johns Ambulance and the Wellstead Historical and Heritage Committee, which has been recognised on a state level for their contributions.
