Results that may assist community groups in CGDN website planning
Below is a summary of results from the regular surveys auCD has been conducting to all live CGDN website groups in 2007. These results may assist communities who are currently developing their CGDN application and/or website planning:
Website Hits: Average number of hits per day as a % of their population is around 30%. All but one group have reported average hits are trending upwards.
Most Popular Areas: Events, news and business directories were the most popular areas, except one community whose most popular was "e-cards" (noting they are the only CGDN website to offer this).
Sourcing on-going funding: A variety of sources including; advertising, sponsorship, business directory listings and from Local and State Government.
Website Accessibility: All respondents have reported that they are currently addressing or have yet to address making their website more accessible to people with disabilities.
It is recommended that website groups address website accessibility in the planning stages of their website development.
