NSW waterway community St Huberts Island launches CGDN
11/Jan/2010
The St Huberts Island community is the latest to launch their community website.
St Huberts Island in New South Wales is a unique 62 hectare canal estate. The community is part of the Gosford City Council district of NSW, an area that has been extremely proactive in creating websites for its communities with 13 applications and 4 live CGDN websites in the area.
Because of the many canals that flow through the town, St Huberts Island provides a unique lifestyle for community members. Resident association president Ron Spratt sees the new community website as a means to celebrate the unique location and further link community communications that have been developed over the years.
“St Huberts Island is a well kept secret and with this website the secret may be let out to a wider audience. I look forward to the community getting behind the site and providing input which will be of interest to island residents and the wider community. We hope this new community resource will further put St Huberts Island on the map and peoples radar looking for a unique environment in which to reside.”
Mr. Spratt sees endless possibilities for the uses of the St Huberts Island community website. He hopes the new website will be utilised to display publications of community newsletters, to promote meetings and events and to provide online support to existing local businesses who advertise in the community newsletter. Mr. Spratt would like the new site to become a community noticeboard featuring local trades and services as well as linking to local activities and accommodation.
