Salt Ash joins its NSW neighbours online

24/Feb/2010

lemontreepassage.nsw.au and tanilbabay.nsw.au welcome into their fold saltash.nsw.au. These towns form part of the five communities that make up the Tilligerry Peninsula-Port Stephens cyber family.

Visit any of these website addresses and you’ll find yourself redirected to the one site promoting the Tilligerry Peninsula. Website Ma nager Sheree Davey describes the addition of the Salt Ash Community Geographic Domain as, “A unique and effective way to unite the communities in reality and on the internet.”

The Lemon Tree Passage and Tanilba Bay website launched in December last year aboard a local yacht and has since proved to be a great asset for the region.  “Our website has been up for a few months now and it's amazing how quickly the word is spreading about it.  Community groups and businesses alike are excited to have a platform such as this that we can manage and direct as a team, rather than rely on the shirt tails of someone else’s site." Sheree said.

For potential visitors to the Tilligerry Peninsula Sheree suggests, "Visit Salt Ash as you enter the Tilligerry Peninsula or on your way to Nelson Bay: stop for a coffee, a horse ride, a turn on a merry-go-round or to feed a koala.  Now that’s diverse!  And only five mins from Newcastle Airport. Go to saltash.nsw.au and check out where the gateway takes you.”
