The Township is surrounded by World Heritage listed rainforest and is the highest point of the Misty Mountain’s Trails. According to the homepage of the new site the area boasts wildlife, birds and attractions found nowhere else in Tropical North Queensland, as can be seen throughout the colourful design on the website put together by local photographer Jonathon Munro.

The CGDN is being managed by the Ravenshoe Visitor Information Centre, webmaster David Nelson comments, “Presently bare boned this organic site is designed to raise community awareness of the unique countryside, home to so many bird, kangaroo and possum species, surrounding Ravenshoe "The Centre of the Universe" and to bring the various sporting, social, volunteer and artistic groups together under a common banner. There is still much work to be done as organisations take charge of their own pages on the site, truly a case of watch this space.”
