Monbulk sees new site as a means to sustain a healthy community
15/Mar/2010
Monbulk in Victoria has become the latest community to join the CGDN family with the launch of their community website this week.
Nestled in the beautiful, green Dandenong Ranges, Monbulk is becoming a popular weekend destination for Melburnians featuring many boutique retail outlets, cafes and restaurants. Monbulk is also noted for its vegetable, fruit and tulip-growing production.
According to website administrator Jill Avard, “The Monbulk website is focussed on communicating and sharing information related to the Monbulk community. It is all about drawing together information about the many elements of the Monbulk community in one place to make it easier for residents and non-residents to obtain information about what the community has to offer, what is happening and what is planned for Monbulk.
“The more people are informed about their own community, the more likely they are to participate and in turn contribute to the community. A comprehensive community website is not an objective in itself but simply one of the means to achieve a healthy community.”
In addition to much information about the community, the new Monbulk website is designed using the colours of the local Football team ‘The Hawks’.
