Lowoods businesses and community organisations now have a web presence

Most local business and community organisations in Lowood had little to no exposure on the net before the launch of lowood.qld.au

Lowood has surged into the digital age with the launch of its community website this week: www.lowood.qld.au

According to Lowood and District Meals on Wheels treasurer and website administrator Jeff Hewitt, “Lowood, Queensland, has never had a community website of its own, so most local business and community organisations have had little to no exposure through the net.

“Now every association, club, business, trade and service in Lowood has their details on the web.

“The not-for-profit .au Community Domains Trust provides terrific support for communities just like ours that need their own website portal, so we took the opportunity to create one on behalf of the whole town.  It was only a small investment for us and the project will pay for itself and generate some income.  Our plan is to offer local businesses opportunities to donate to our organisation in exchange for banner advertising, so everyone wins.” said Mr. Hewitt.

The website has been extremely well received and we are now looking at helping another local town to do the same thing." added Mr Hewitt.

The new website includes community and business directories, events calendar, local news and town history to promote all aspects of Lowood to residents, new arrivals and visitors.
