New Kilcoy site contributes to Community Connection Project
20/Apr/2010
The Kilcoy community is the latest to go live with their new CGDN website
Kilcoy is located at the top of beautiful Lake Somerset at the southern end of the Sunshine Coast hinterland in Queensland.
Kilcoy and the surrounding district is home to 3500 country folk and former city dwellers enjoying a true "tree change". The homepage of the new website describes its community as a district with lots of clean country air and a friendly laid-back lifestyle
The Somerset Region Community Support Association created the new site in keeping with the ‘Connecting Kilcoy Community Project’. The project aims to build and implement community initiatives to support the needs of the community. Website administrator David Matthews sees the Kilcoy website as an important part of the Connecting Kilcoy Community Project and vital to the development of the community.

“With modern technology people are going more and more to the internet for information and it’s a very good way of communicating what is going on to community members and visitors. We feel that given the ever-changing circumstances of community and the concentration on bigger cities it’s important for the smaller communities to be proactive in their future development.” said Mr Matthews.
