Victoria's Tidiest Town winner, Horsham launched new website
30/Nov/2009
The Horsham community launched their community website last week at the 30th anniversary celebration of the Wimmera Information Networks Inc.
Located 300km from Melbourne on the banks of the Wimmera River, Horsham is best known as the business and recreational centre of the Grampians region. Horsham was voted Victoria’s tidiest town in 2008 and a National finalist in 2009 by the Keep Australia Beautiful Tidy Town awards. In keeping with its reputation as one of Australia’s tidiest towns, Horsham boasts one of the finest greens golf courses outside metropolitan Melbourne and is featured in the top public courses in Australia.
Judith Bysouth, Executive Officer of the Wimmera Information Network and website manager officially launched the community website on Thursday, she commented that this event which took part in conjunction with the Wimmera Information Networks AGM was one of the most successful events with many community members joining in the celebrations. At the launch Judith said, “It is with great pleasure that I launch our community website. The Horsham community website is centrally a web-address that supports keeping Horsham on the map. The website also has the potential to raise revenue for the Wimmera Information Network who hasn’t received core funding since 1995.”
