Proceeds from new Herberton site help build community chapel

Herberton in the Tablelands region of Far North Queensland is the latest to launch their community website. Website administrator and member of the Lions Club of Herberton, Colin Purchase says, “The website provides a one stop shop for all information relating to the Herberton geographic community.
“Proceeds from donations for promotion of business websites will be directed to assist in erecting a chapel at the Herberton cemetery in memory of Father White who is reported to have conducted the first ever observance of the Dawn parade on Anzac Day.”
The Lions Club of Herberton Inc. were quick to jump on the Community Geographic Domain Name bandwagon after Mr. Purchase attended an information seminar held in Atherton late last year. Since the seminar, many applications from communities in this region have been received so expect many new websites from Far North Queensland being added to the CGDN family this year.
