Beautiful Hardy’s Bay averages 20,000 hits per month

The Hardy’s Bay community website is proving to be as popular as the affluent coastal suburb, 90km north of Sydney with the website averaging 20,000 hits per month. The beautiful Hardy’s Bay area is a desirable spot for holiday houses and retirement and has received much praise from tourists and travel-writers. David Lockwood of the Sydney Morning Herald describes Hardy’s Bay as a “heavenly sanctuary of an old world style and modern sophistication”.

The Hardy’s Bay website has existed for some time under the website address www.hardysbay.com. Members of the Hardy’s Bay Resident Action Group who run the site recognised the significance of a Community Geographic Domain Name and registered both www.hardysbay.nsw.au and www.killcare.nsw.au to point to their existing website.

Resident Group President Adrian Williams says his organisation places a strong emphasis on developing a close and harmonious liaison with government bodies, councils, businesses and community groups within the area. These sentiments are echoed through the community website that features regular updates on local issues such as the Salt Marsh mosquito problem, community efforts to restore the foreshore by removing oyster leases as well as information on local amenities, accommodation and a comprehensive directory. "Our commitment is to significantly assist in providing and sustaining a healthy environment and lifestyle for the residents of Hardy's Bay and the neighbouring communities. The special Hardy's Bay Residents Group website, www.hardysbay.nsw.au continues to play an important role in providing regular community information and communication.” Said Mr. Williams.
