Guyra, the home of the Lamb and Potato Festival launches new website
The Guyra community have launched their own website this week
Located halfway between Sydney and Brisbane, the town is best known for its Lamb and Potato Festival attracting thousands of holiday travellers each year. The week-long festival each January provides a variety of tasty and interesting meals for lunch and dinner to celebrate the primary-industries in the area: lamb, cattle, wool and potatoes.
As Guyra is a popular tourist destination, the new website hopes to provide information for visitors to the region as well as keep the community up-to-date on local news and events.
According to website coordinator Martha Weiderman, “The website is based on the Guyra Book, a business and community guide providing comprehensive information about our ‘Top of the Range’ town. The website includes information on our location, its history, education, sport & recreation, employment, agriculture & industry and a directory listing local businesses.”
The site has been developed as a combined effort between the Guyra Tourism & Commerce Association and the New England Community College. The community hope www.guyra.nsw.au will enhance business and tourism activities within the area and provide enough information that visitors to the area can find out about all the town has to offer before they arrive.
