Community website promotes local events and attractions
Fish Creek, locally known as 'Fishy', is a charming South Gippsland country town with a strong community spirit.
Residents are actively involved in arts, sporting and community events which are listed on their new website at www.fishcreek.vic.au.
Regular events include monthly film society screenings, farmers' markets and craft markets, and the annual Great Southern Portrait Prize judged by a panel of independent artists.
Fish Creek is home to a number of talented artists. Tourists visit the art and craft shops as they pass through the town on their way to Wilsons Promontory National Park. The town's art galleries are listed on the website.
The Fish Creek community takes a lot of pride in their township, which was recognised when they won an award in a recent Victoria Tidy Towns competition.
The Fish Creek Football Club is over 100 years old and boasts players who have gone on to play AFL.
