Rawson creates town identity online with new CGDN website
09/Jun/2010
The Rawson community are the latest to launch their own community website.
The town was established as a home for construction workers for the nearby Thomson Dam but has grown to become a modern, mountain retreat.
The town prides itself on being a family friendly destination where during the winter months, visitors and residents enjoy cross country skiing at the nearby mountains.
According to web-master, Trish Reardon, “I think for any small community it is important to start to develop its own identity, identify its assets and be proud to let everyone know what they are. This community website will enable the township of Rawson to do this. Our aim is for this website to not only be a useful tool for visitors to the area, but to also keep local residents updated on what is happening within their community.

“The website is in its early stages of development and local community groups are encouraged to forward information to us so that we can increase our content.”
“Further down the track we will be adding the ability for visitors to the site to request brochures, make enquiries and complete online surveys.”
